A 500 KW Medium Frequency Induction Furnace (with Two 0.5 tons furnace body) is used to melt high alloy steels.

2 units Cold-blast 4.1 tons/hr Cupola Furnace are in operation everyday averaging 600 MT per month of gray iron castings.

The development of foundry operations are based on the test works and research done at the laboratory. Intrusive studies and experiments are performed to test certain operations or processes.

Sand Testing Equipment: moulding sand must remain homogenous and consistent. Quality of moulding sand are checked everyday in terms of hardness, compactability, green compressive and shearing properties, flowability, surface stability and moisture content.

The laboratory is capable of determining the composition of various alloys through a 29 Channel SHIMADZU Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES5500II) including Nitrogen analysis.
